Animated Musical Christmas Cards I made for the Alumni of my Old School
The practice of making E-cards dates back to the days when, as a member of Staff at my old school, I helped out with the dreaded 'DIDA'. From Christmas 2014, I, the webmistress of this site, made an animated, musical 'swf ' Christmas cyber-card from the Wolverhampton Girls' High School Old Girls' Union to all of its members. In my role as editor of the Wolverhampton Girls' High School Old Girls' Union newsletter I began to create and mail them out to Old Girls in 2014. They were well received. This continued in an official capacity until 2023 - my last year as editor - I now just do a card for Old Girls in a totally unofficial role - one of an Old Girl and past member of the school staff. From 2014 to 2016 I made Flash cards. This site contains a section on how to use Flash to make swf files. If you have the software do check it out. They are fun to make! If not, you can still check out the activity swfs on there.... ideal to keep small children (and those aduts with childlike traits) amused in the Christmas season. But because malware could be inserted into the coding of Flash (and because Adobe wanted to decommision all of the old Macromedia products...) Flash died in 2020 and I have replaced the originals on this page with HTML5 versions.
Just click on the card you want to see... make sure you have the sound turned on! If you have any 'Christmassy' photos of your schooldays that you would be williing for me to use please let me have them...
