Press play when your sound is turned on and listen to 'O Holy Night'! "O Holy Night" (original title "Cantique de Noël") is a well-known Christmas carol. It was based on a French-language poem that was written in 1843 by poet Placide Cappeau - the first line of the poem being "Minuit, Chrétien, c'est l'heure solennelle" (Midnight, Christian, is the solemn hour). Composer Adolphe Adam set the poem to music in 1847. |
