Cyber security: Sophos Threatsaurus

The Open University introduced me to this very useful publication.

It is a product of bit of clever marketing from Sophos.

Sophos is a well-known cybersecurity company that provides security software for businesses. However, it also provides antivirus software for general consumers, promising "business-grade cybersecurity" for home use.

Making potential customers aware of the dangers out there is a good way to get new punters - but on here I am only interested in educating you to the terminology relating to the vast and growing subject of cybersecurity - so I am rating this as an excellent, well laid out, informative booklet.

There are lots of technical terms relating to cyber security and Sophos (one of the major players in the anti-malware business) publish a very useful 'Threatsaurus' to help you remember and define the terms relating to malware.

It is a plain-English guideto the threats posed by malicious software. IT managers and end users alike find it useful.

The Threatsaurus includes:

an A–Z glossary on computer and data security threats practical tips to stay safe from email scams, identity theft, malware and other threats

a guide to Sophos's security software and hardware.

Well, they have to try to sell to you to cover the costs, don't they!

You can download a copy of the Sophos Threatsaurus PDF from:
