Glossary: Lives

In real life if you are mortally wounded you die - end of story (in this realm anyway!) but in the cyberworld it may not be the end. You may have three or even more lives. If you replay the action that got you killed you will eventually 'run out of lives'.

In games where you have one life only it is possible to save the game at a point and restore the game to that point when you die. That means that you can replay a scene and hopefully avoid 'dying' a second time.
